AMSOIL 12+ Store Policy Clarification

moveUpToAmsoil

The 12+ Store Policy was revised to allow exceptions to be considered on an individual basis. In response, many Dealers contacted us seeking clarification of the amendment. The revised policy appears below with the change highlighted in red.

Businesses that own more than 12 retail outlets may only register individual outlets as separate retail accounts. Each outlet/account must have the authority to establish an account and place individual orders for its own store. Invoices, co-op advertising credit and other documents will be sent to the individual account.

Individual outlets/accounts may not use centralized distribution, group shipments, transfer inventory between outlets or combine co-op advertising credits. An AMSOIL Dealer may register and/or sell to a maximum of 24 individual retail outlets that are owned by the same business. Exceptions to this will be considered for certain retail segments that are not in direct conflict with the best interests of the Dealer opportunity. Dealers must work in conjunction with the Dealer Sales Department in order for businesses to be considered for an exception. AMSOIL reserves the right to accept or reject account applications and to terminate accounts that do not meet account qualifications or are considered not in the best interest of AMSOIL INC. and the Dealer opportunity.

Businesses considered for an exception include retail and commercial installers, hardware stores, convenience stores and industrial suppliers whose business models are flexible enough to allow them to work with a Dealer and AMSOIL to achieve a mutually beneficial arrangement. Auto parts stores (including those with service bays, e.g., O’Reilly Auto Parts, AutoZone, Pep Boys), mass merchandisers (e.g., Walmart, Sears, Target) and discount stores (e.g., Sam’s Club, Costco, Home Depot) will not be considered for an exception.

The following characterizations will help you identify businesses that are potential exceptions:

  • Retail and commercial installers allocate more than 70 percent of their building to installation and repairs. They may sell a few packaged goods, but the majority of their business and floor space is for installation services. Examples of businesses in this retail segment include:
    • Midas, Firestone, Brakes Plus, Pomp’s Tire, Lube Stop, All Tune and Lube, Tilden Car Care, Boss Shops, Blaine Brothers, Speedco, Love’s Travel Stop
  • Hardware stores offer a high degree of service, convenience and wide variety of traditional hardware, as well as many other household and garage-related items. They typically rely on higher profit margins, but do run promotions. Examples of businesses in this retail segment include:
    • ACE Hardware, Orchard Supply Hardware, Hardware Hank, Do It Best Hardware
  • Convenience stores charge for having a variety of convenience items available in one location, often close to your home or work. They rely on higher prices to stay in business and don’t discount automotive products. Examples of businesses in this retail segment include:
    • Kwik Trip, Gas-N-Go, Easy Mart,  Kroger, Sunoco, Holiday, 7-Eleven, Casey’s General Store
  • Industrial Suppliers provide single-source contracts to commercial businesses for maintenance, repair and operation (MRO) items. They carry a variety of items and don’t discount or advertise like traditional retail, though some have small public “stores” inside their offices. They are a convenience business and rely on higher prices to cover the expense of warehousing small quantities of many different products and the cost of shipping to their customers. Examples of businesses in this retail segment include:
    • Graybar, Airgas, Motion Industries, Kaman Technologies, Applied Industrial Technologies

Remember, retail accounts that allocate the majority of their floor space to selling retail products and those that buy in large quantities to receive discounts and sell at discounted prices will not be considered an exception.

AMSOIL NOW OFFERS FREE SHIPPING FOR RETAIL ACCOUNTS

moveUpToAmsoilAMSOIL field research indicates that independent retailers are more likely to purchase from suppliers who provide free shipping and delivery within two days. With the AMSOIL network of distribution centers, the vast majority of AMSOIL orders are already delivered within two days. And, since retail accounts don’t qualify for purchase and freight discounts or commissions like Dealers, Preferred Customers and commercial accounts, AMSOIL will help Dealers increase their sales to retailers and installers by extending free shipping to retail accounts effective April 1.

Retail accounts receive free shipping for orders totaling $300 ($400 Canada) or more. If the order total is less than $300, a flat shipping rate of $9.99 ($11.99 Canada) will apply. Accounts that pick up their orders from an AMSOIL distribution center or employ group-ship or freight-collect options receive a 2 percent discount on their order total.

Free shipping is available for retail accounts in the continental U.S. and Canada. It is not available in Alaska or Hawaii at this time. Additional charges may still apply if customers require lift gate, call before delivery or other special services. Interline fees will also still apply for shipping to remote areas of Canada.

AMSOIL ADDS NEW SAE 5W-50 SIGNATURE SERIES 100% SYNTHETIC MOTOR OIL

Another NEW AMSOIL Motor Oil recently added to the Inventory should make Ford Owners content with the addtion of the 5W – 50 Signature Series 100% Motor Oil..

SAE 5W-50 Signature Series 100% Synthetic Motor Oil

AMR-20W-50 Motor Oil

AMSOIL Signature Series Synthetic Motor Oil delivers extraordinary lubrication in all types of automotive gasoline engines. By combining industry-premier synthetic technology with AMSOIL premium additives, Signature Series Synthetic Motor Oil exceeds the higher performance demands of modern engines.

AMR
Product Code: AMRQT-EA

AMSOIL, the leader in automotive synthetic lubrication, produced the world’s first API-qualified synthetic motor oil in 1972. Trust the extensive experience of AMSOIL, the First in Synthetics®, to do the best job protecting your engine.

Protects Your Engine
AMSOIL Signature Series Synthetic Motor Oil provides outstanding anti-wear protection. It develops a strong fluid film that keeps metal surfaces separated while its robust anti-wear additives further reduce wear in metal-to-metal contact regions for maximum engine life. In the Sequence IIIG test, which is normally run for 100 hours, AMSOIL Signature Series Synthetic Motor Oil delivered outstanding wear protection for the camshaft and lifters, even after doubling the test interval to 200 hours. For details, see the Double-Length Sequence IIIG Engine Test Technical Study (G3320).

Maximizes Fuel Economy
Signature Series Synthetic Motor Oil is designed to maximize energy efficiency for optimum fuel economy. Unlike conventional oils, its uniform molecular structure helps it flow more freely and reduce friction between metal surfaces. Anti-friction additives are included to further improve energy efficiency.

Extends Drain Intervals
AMSOIL Signature Series Synthetic Motor Oil can extend drain intervals far beyond those recommended for conventional oils. Its unique synthetic formulation and long-drain additive system are inherently stable to resist oxidation and neutralize acids over longer periods. Signature Series is designed to deliver outstanding engine protection, cleanliness and performance over extended drain intervals. It reduces vehicle maintenance and waste oil.

Keeps Pistons Clean
Excess piston deposits can lead to pre-ignition and engine knocking, which results in lost power, reduced fuel economy and, in severe cases, engine damage. Signature Series’ premium additives and naturally high resistance to extreme heat help keep pistons clean for maximum engine performance. After a double-length, 200-hour Sequence IIIG engine test, Signature Series demonstrated outstanding cleanliness properties and shattered the requirements of a 100-hour test.

Sequence IIIG

Excels in Extreme Temperatures
Signature Series resists thermal (heat) breakdown better than conventional and synthetic motor oils. It is heavily fortified with detergent and dispersant additives to help prevent sludge deposits and keep engines clean. Unlike conventional oils, Signature Series contains no wax, staying fluid in sub-zero temperatures for easier starting, improved oil flow and reduced wear.

Reduces Oil Consumption and Emissions
Volatility (burn-off) occurs when oil gets hot, causing high oil consumption and emissions. Signature Series resists volatility better than other oils, helping reduce oil consumption and emissions.

APPLICATIONS
AMSOIL Signature Series Synthetic Motor Oil is excellent for use in all types of gasoline-fueled vehicles. It is recommended for all domestic and foreign vehicles requiring any of the listed performance specifications:

5W-50 (AMR): API SN, SM…; Ford WSS-M2C931-C (Mustang)

COMPATIBILITY
AMSOIL Signature Series Synthetic Motor Oil is compatible with other conventional and synthetic motor oils. Mixing AMSOIL motor oils with other oils, however, will shorten the oil’s life expectancy and reduce its performance benefits. AMSOIL does not support extended drain intervals where oils have been mixed.

Aftermarket oil additives are not recommended for use with AMSOIL synthetic motor oils.

SERVICE LIFE

  • Normal Service – Up to 25,000 miles, 700 hours of operation or one year, whichever comes first, in personal vehicles not operating under Severe Service.
  • Severe Service – Up to 15,000 miles, 700 hours of operation or one year, whichever comes first.

Severe Service: Primarily short trips (less than 10 miles [16 km]); turbo/supercharged engines; commercial or fleet vehicles; excessive idling; first-time use of AMSOIL motor oil in a vehicle with more than 100,000 miles; frequent towing, hauling, plowing or driving in dusty conditions.

  • Modified engines (non-stock) and those using E85 fuel are excluded from extended drain recommendations.
  • Change at the vehicle manufacturer’s recommended drain interval outside U.S. and Canada.
  • AMSOIL Ea® Full-Flow Oil Filters are designed for extended change intervals. With other brands, do not exceed six months or 10,000 miles unless longer intervals are recommended by the vehicle manufacturer.
  • Check oil regularly to maintain proper fill levels.

AMSOIL Ea® Full-Flow Oil Filters are designed for extended change intervals. They stop smaller particles, flow more oil and last longer than regular filters. For best performance, use AMSOIL Ea Full-Flow Oil Filters.

AMSOIL Holds Line On Price Increases

AMSOIL, the leader in Synthetic Lubrication, is always looking at ways to give the customer and dealer network the BEST prices available depending on their suppliers.   With the extended drain intervals of AMSOIL’s 25,000 or one year service life and their oil filters of 25,000 miles or one year service life OR 15,000 miles or one year service life the cost effectiveness of the #1 Synthetic Lubrication manufacturer in America does safe people time and money.

While the price of crude oil has dropped recently, the costs of lubricant base stocks, additives and other raw materials continue to rise. Most lubricant manufacturers are set to implement their fourth or fifth price increase since early February, with these increases expected to slowly work their way into the retail marketplace over the next several months. While AMSOIL has also been affected with increasing costs of raw materials, the company is holding the line on implementing another price increase. AMSOIL has limited its price increases to just three since February, while also limiting the percentage increases to approximately half of the percentage increases implemented by competing manufacturers.

AMSOIL synthetic lubricants are the best and most cost-effective choice on the market, saving customers money through extended drain intervals, reduced wear and maintenance and increased fuel efficiency. Customers save even more by registering as Preferred Customers, while the OE Synthetic Motor Oil line provides customers with the enhanced protection and performance properties of a synthetic at a competitive, lower initial price.

For further information go to www.The1stSyntheticoil.com or www.amsoil.com and look at the particular products of interest.  Should you desire to purchase AMSOIL products you can call 1-800-777-7094 and give the operator Reference # 9792.

AMSOIL’S NEW Z-ROD OILS ARE THE CAT’S MEOW FOR CLASSIC VEHICLES

ASM 0W-20 Synthetic
AMSOIL Z-ROD 10W-30 Synthetic Motor Oil (ZRT)  Available as 10W-30 and 20W-50 Oils

Modern Technology For Classic Cars

AMSOIL Z-ROD™ Synthetic Motor Oil is specially engineered for classic and high-performance vehicles. It features a high-zinc formulation to prevent wear on flat-tappet camshafts and other critical engine components, along with a proprietary blend of rust and corrosion inhibitors for added protection during long-term storage. Z-ROD Synthetic Motor Oil is designed to perform on the street and protect during storage.

AMSOIL, the leader in automotive synthetic lubrication, produced the world’s first API-qualified synthetic motor oil in 1972. Trust the extensive experience of AMSOIL, the First in Synthetics®, to do the best job protecting your engine.

Protects Flat-Tappet Cams
The lifters and cam lobes on flat-tappet camshafts common to classic and high performance vehicles slide rapidly against one another, producing high friction and heat. The friction between the two components can eventually wear down the cam and affect valve operation, ultimately resulting in lost engine power and reduced efficiency. In addition, these areas are splash-lubricated rather than pressure lubricated like other areas of the engine, which adds extra strain on anti-wear additives like the zinc and phosphorus in zinc dialkyldithiophosphate (ZDDP).

AMSOIL Z-ROD Synthetic Motor Oil is formulated with high levels of ZDDP to protect flat-tappet cams, lifters, rockers and other areas susceptible to wear. Its high-zinc, high-phosphorus formulation provides the extra wear protection these critical splash-lubricated components require.

Provides Long-Term Protection from Rust & Corrosion
AMSOIL Z-ROD Synthetic Motor Oil is formulated with a unique blend of rust and corrosion inhibitors to ensure maximum protection during long-term storage. To prove its effectiveness, AMSOIL submitted Z-ROD Synthetic Motor Oil to the Standard Test Method for Rust Protection in the Humidity Cabinet (ASTM D-1748). This test evaluates the rust-preventative properties of oil under high-humidity conditions, similar to those faced by a covered hot rod in a damp garage. The metal coupon treated with AMSOIL Z-ROD Synthetic Motor Oil showed no signs of oxidation after 192 hours, while the coupon treated with a leading competitor’s product failed the test after 24 hours.

APPLICATIONS
AMSOIL Z-ROD Synthetic Motor Oil is recommended for older or modified engines requiring either 10W-30 or 20W-50 motor oil. Z-ROD Synthetic Motor Oil meets API SL and earlier specifications, allowing for increased levels of anti-wear additives. ZDDP levels in Z-ROD Synthetic Motor Oil exceed the limits of API SM and newer specifications.

COMPATIBILITY
AMSOIL Z-ROD Synthetic Motor Oils are compatible with conventional and other synthetic motor oils. Mixing AMSOIL Z-ROD Synthetic Motor Oils with other oils, however, will shorten the oil’s life expectancy and reduce the performance benefits. Aftermarket oil additives are not recommended for use with AMSOIL Z-ROD Synthetic Motor Oils.

SERVICE LIFE
Because engines in classic cars, hot rods and other performance vehicles are generally modified, a universal oil drain interval recommendation for these applications cannot be given. Responsibility for determining the drain interval duration rests with the owner. As a general service guideline, the maximum drain interval for Z-ROD Synthetic Motor Oil should not exceed 5,000 miles or one year, whichever comes first. In heavily modified engines (e.g. forced induction, nitrous) the maximum drain interval should not exceed 3,000 miles or one year, whichever comes first.

HEALTH & SAFETY
This product is not expected to cause health concerns when used for the intended application and according to the recommendations in the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS). An MSDS is available via the Internet at http://www.amsoil.com or upon request at (715) 392-7101. Keep Out of Reach of Children. Don’t pollute. Return used oil to collection centers.

AMSOIL EXPANDS SIGNATURE SERIES LINE OF OILS

AMSOIL 0W-20 (ASM), 5W-30 (ASL) and 10W-30 (ATM) Synthetic Motor Oils join AMSOIL Signature Series 0W-30 to round out the new Signature Series line. Signature Series 0W-30 is now identified by product code AZO. Product code SSO is discontinued and still available while supplies last.

In addition to being reformulated to meet the latest API SN Resource Conserving and ILSAC GF-5 industry specifications, the new Signature Series line features all-new packaging and represents the very best motor oils AMSOIL has to offer, allowing motorists to take advantage of maximum extended drain intervals. In the interest of consistency and clarity within the Signature Series line, all four motor oils are recommended for drain intervals of up to 25,000 miles/one year, whichever comes first (15,000 miles/one year in severe service conditions).

With the recent introduction of OE Synthetic Motor Oil and the recent reformulation of XL Synthetic Motor Oil, Signature Series Synthetic Motor Oil provides customers a choice between three distinct lines of high-quality synthetic motor oil. OE is an outstanding choice for installers and as an entry-level product for customers who want the benefits of a synthetic, but won’t pay a significantly higher price or aren’t yet ready to extend their drain intervals; XL is ideal for installers and customers interested in extra engine protection and the convenience of 10,000-mile/six-month drain intervals and Signature Series is targeted toward customers who want the absolute best protection and performance, while taking advantage of 25,000-mile/one-year drain intervals.

The new Signature Series line is replacing the previous formulations of the AMSOIL top-tier oils as inventories dictate; orders will be filled with the older formulations and packaging until inventory is depleted, which may occur at varying times for each viscosity. The new Signature Series 0W-30 (AZO) sells at a lower price than the previous Signature Series 0W-30 formulation (SSO). The former Signature Series 0W-30 formulation (SSO) is available while supplies last.

For further information go to www.The1stSyntheticoil.com or www.lubedealer.com/southeasternlubricants. Should you call AMSOIL at 1-800-777-7094 to order products tell the operator you are calling in reference to ZO 9792.
